Abnoba Tours : born and driven by passion
Welcome to Abnoba, where our ambition is to offer a whole new way of discovering the Black Forest.
My name is Daniel, founder and passionate guide at Abnoba Tours. With a master degree in sports and tourism, I’ve always been dedicated to the world of travel and outdoor sports. Driven by my love for culture, nature and outdoor sports, I spend my free time hiking new trails and uncovering new sports in the Black Forest region.
I quickly fell in love with this charming region and its strong cultural identity, and could sense its untapped tourism potential.
It is in 2024 that I decide to turn my passion into a profession. I started the necessary training and took the administrative steps to found my own company and become a driver-guide. Beyond sharing knowledge and stories, my goal is to create real human connections and share my passion for this territory through authentic and convivial experiences.
But wait : what does Abnoba even mean ? The name has several ancient origins. Abnoba was the term used by early writers, naturalists and mapmakers to mention this very mountain range, litteraly meaning : where the Danube river begins. In Celtic culture, Abnoba also became the goddess who watched over this forested land. She was the local counterpart to the Roman Diana or the Greek Artemis, protector of nature and wild.
Je m’appelle Daniel, fondateur et guide passionné d’Abnoba Tours. Diplômé d’un master dans le sport et le tourisme, j’ai consacré ma carrière au monde du voyage et de la découverte. Passionné par la culture, la nature et les sports outdoors, je passe mon temps libre à explorer de nouveaux sentiers et à chercher des trésors cachés au cœur de la Forêt-Noire.
Je tombe rapidement amoureux de cette région pleine de charme, à l’identité culturelle marquée, et au potentiel touristique immense.
C’est en 2024 que je décide d’en faire mon métier. Je me lance dans les démarches et les formations obligatoires pour ouvrir mon entreprise et devenir chauffeur guide. Au-delà de l’échange, et du partage de connaissances, je souhaite mettre un point d’honneur à partager ma passion de ce territoire, et créer une relation authentique et conviviale.
Mais au fait : c’est quoi « Abnoba » ? Le terme a plusieurs origines, qui remontent toutes à des temps très anciens. Abnoba c’est d’abord le nom que donnent les premiers écrivains, naturalistes, et cartographes à ce massif de la Fôret Noire, où le Danube prend sa source. Dans la culture celtique, Abnoba deviendra également la divinité en charge de la protection de ce massif montagneux. Elle est en quelque sorte le pendant de la Diane romaine ou de l’Artémis grecque, veillant notamment sur la nature.

I created Abnoba Tours not only out of passion for this region, but also with the conviction that unforgettable adventures and moments of wonder don’t require traveling thousands of kilometers and harmin the planet.
The Black Forest, filled with breathtaking nature, authentic villages and strong culture lays only a few steps from Strasbourg, and is easily accessible.
My goal is to offer responsible excursions, far from mass tourism, and to showcase a region that I hold dear, one that truly deserves to be discovered.
