WHY CHOOSE THIS DAY TRIP
Three sides of the region
in one day
In Triberg, discover waterfalls and clockmaking traditions. At Titisee, slow down by the lake. In Freiburg im Breisgau, explore a historic town where heritage meets everyday life.
This trip is for travellers who want to discover several places in a single day. It includes journeys between stops and is an introduction to the region, rather than an in-depth stay in each destination.
THE ITINERARY
Your day in
Triberg, Titisee and Freiburg
From Strasbourg railway station, cross the Rhine and watch the scenery change: the valley, vineyards, villages and first mountain slopes of the Black Forest. On the way, Daniel shares the region’s history and legends.
Planned itinerary: Triberg → Titisee → Freiburg. The order of visits and time at each stop are approximate and may change according to conditions and traffic.
Prepare your visit with our guides to Triberg Waterfalls, Lake Titisee and Freiburg.
WATERFALLS & TRADITIONS
Triberg: waterfalls and Black Forest traditions
Around 1 hour 20 minutes here. After passing through the village, visit Triberg Waterfalls or discover cuckoo clocks and traditional shops. Forest scenery, craftsmanship and local traditions come together at this first stop.
On the way to Titisee, follow the German Clock Route past mountains, traditional farmhouses and green landscapes.
The waterfall visit is optional: admission is not included (€9). Wear suitable walking shoes.
LAKE & LANDSCAPES
Titisee: a break by the lake
Around 1 hour 30 minutes here. Set among the mountains, Lake Titisee is a chance to unwind by the water. Walk along the shore, relax on a terrace or choose an electric boat ride at an extra cost.
The restaurants and terraces make this a convenient lunch stop before continuing to Freiburg.
Meals, drinks and optional boat trips are not included.
HERITAGE & LOCAL LIFE
Freiburg im Breisgau: heritage and local life
Around 2 hours 30 minutes here, including a guided walk of approximately one hour through the historic centre. Daniel introduces you to Freiburg im Breisgau, its cathedral, cobbled streets and Bächle, the small channels that run through the old town.
Then enjoy free time to visit the cathedral, explore the market square or try a slice of Black Forest cake.
On the return journey to Strasbourg, look out for the vineyards of the Kaiserstuhl region.
