DISCOVER TRIBERG WATERFALLS

What can you see at Triberg Waterfalls?

The Gutach tumbles down seven tiers with a total drop of 163 metres. The waterfalls are one of the Black Forest’s best-known natural attractions. The woodland walk is as much a part of the experience as the water and rocks.

The main entrance is within walking distance of Triberg town centre. You can combine your visit with the shops and clockmaking traditions Daniel introduces during his tour. If time is limited, choose your priority: walking around the natural site or spending longer in the town.

PRACTICAL POINTERS

Enjoy the surroundings,
at your own pace.

Advice to help you plan your day and choose what suits you.

01 · PLAN

How much time should you allow?

For an independent visit, we suggest allowing half a day to combine the waterfalls, the town and a meal without rushing. This is a planning suggestion, not a compulsory duration for the trail.

On the Abnoba Tours day trip, the Triberg stop lasts around 1 hour 20 minutes. It gives you a taste of the area as part of a day that also includes Titisee and Freiburg. Before starting a trail, check the meeting point and leave enough time to return to the minibus.

02 · PREPARE

Admission, footwear and visiting conditions

There is an admission charge for the waterfalls. For his day trip, Daniel quotes €9, which is not included in the tour price. If visiting independently, check the official price list for your date and circumstances: prices may vary by season.

Wear suitable walking shoes and clothing for the weather. Being close to the town centre does not mean all trails have the same difficulty. Check which paths are open before choosing your walk.

In winter, Triberg’s municipal information describes limited access from the main entrance to the first viewing platform. It also mentions an adapted entrance at Asklepios Klinik. Check the exact conditions with the site if you have accessibility requirements. The Abnoba minibus excursion itself is not suitable for people with reduced mobility.

03 · EXPLORE

Combine Triberg with Titisee and Freiburg

These three stops offer different experiences: waterfalls and traditions in Triberg, a lakeside break in Titisee and historic streets in Freiburg. Combining them works well for a first visit with a variety of settings.

If you want to spend a full day walking around Triberg, focus your programme on this destination. A multi-stop tour means sharing time between visits and travel.

to the Black Forest.

Daniel personally accompanies every Abnoba Tours excursion. Triberg, Titisee and Freiburg are the stops on his main day trip from Strasbourg.

Your questions before you travel

Do you have to pay to see the waterfalls?

Yes, admission to the site is charged. On the Abnoba tour, visiting the waterfalls is optional and not included; the price communicated by Daniel is €9.

Can I stay in the town during the stop?

The tour includes free time. You can focus on cuckoo clocks and traditional shops, as long as you return at the meeting time Daniel gives you.

Are the waterfalls always accessible in winter?

Access to the trails may be limited. Check the town of Triberg’s information before travelling; an open site does not mean all paths are accessible.
